I love Mondays

I love roller coasters.
*LYING*

Pasta Carbonara

Bring water to boil in large pot.
Salt generously
Add in 12oz of pasta-I like linguine or fettuccine for this
Cook to desired doneness-I like al dente, about 7-8 minutes.

In small bowl combine
2 eggs beaten
2 tablespoons cream, or milk-whatever is fine
1/4-1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

When noodles are done drain and place back in pan(turn the stove off please-the rest is all done with residual heat)
Pour the egg mixture over the pasta and toss til the pasta is glossy. If you need to loosen up the sauce add in some pasta water if you thought to save any or a little splash of cream or milk.

Here's the fun part

Toss in a handful or two of bacon bits/pieces from the ginormous bag you bought at Sam's awhile back and then stir in a couple of seeded and chopped cluster tomatoes that you bought last week and forgot about because you put them on top of the tangerines and they just blended in too well and you look over and say "CRAP! WHAT THE HECK CAN I DO WITH THESE CAUSE THEY'RE ABOUT TO GO BAD!" and that's why you decided to make Pasta Carbonara for lunch in the first place. Oh, and you and the French kid are the only ones who like tomatoes anyway and she is there because she slept late and your policy is if you sleep late in this house, tough titty, you get to stay home and scrub the bathroom the right way and maybe tomorrow when it's time to get up and someone goes to wake you up(2x) you'll get your butt up and get ready for school.
B only slept in once for the record.
I don't think M will do again either.

Sprinkle extra parmesan on top and enjoy your pasta!

1) that recipe sounds marvelous!!!

2) I love the bathroom cleaning bit. That's perfect!

I was in charge of waking my sister up and getting her to school. She could sleep through a freight train in her room. One day I finally got fed up with trying to wake her up...so I went in, told her I was leaving...and left. (she was in like second or third grade I think)

About 10 am, I get called to the school office. Seems my sister woke up, found that I wasn't there and freaked out...called mom. Mom laughed (to herself) and called the school...to tell them to let me go back home and get her (we lived about a 1/2 mile away or so, not far).

After that, she got up when I woke her up. Which was kinda a bummer...because it got me out of about 2 hours of school that day. :-)

Nej- 1)if you're a mac and cheese lover(and I know you are!) this is so delicious and easy and takes no more time than fixing up that blue box.
2)It works every time-so far. We'll have to see how the Kid does with this bit of parenting when it's her turn! To bad about not getting to miss any more school on your sister's behalf though!

DCN- roller coaster rides well, they are what life is all about aren't they-why should I get on an extra one? =P Life IS good though you know?
B gets herself up and has for years-as do we-and only has to be bartender for us occasionally =)which she thinks is a little funny( can't agree with her too much though cause she might stop!)
It's true though, our kids are in us-playing out all the good and bad for us to laugh and groan about.

I would have rather cleaned the bathroom than gone to school. Be careful. :D

BTW, I hate roller coasters, life is much better than one of those torture devices!

My WV was appecoer, did you use one of those to make your pie?

HD-for some reason all the kids here would rather go to school than clean with me. Maybe it's because I acually make them work hard-unlike the schools these days. I have not gotten on a roller coaster since I was 5 or 6 months pregnant with the Big Kid, so something like 17 years (holy crap!) As for the apple pie, I just cut the apple in 4ths and cut the core out at an angle and stick the rest in my mini food processor. I do have an apple corer-but I broke it. =(
