Peach Sangria, just in time for the weekend!

I have a recipe to share today. This Peach Sangria is wonderful and not too sweet. I very much enjoyed the gallon I made during the first half of our Spring vacation. Trust me it is delicious.

Peach Sangria

Makes 1 gallon(very easily halved)

Combine in a gallon pitcher:

I jar peaches, chopped-reserve 2/3 cup of the liquid(I used Del Monte Orchard Select Peaches in light syrup)(Dear God do not use canned peaches with heavy syrup!)(If you are going to use fresh peaches, use 2 cups chopped-about 3-and macerate with 2/3 cup sugar for 30 minutes or so before you start assembling)
2 1/2 cups orange juice
4-6 limes juiced-about 1 to 1 1/2 cups
2 oz triple sec
2/3 cup peach schnapps or peach brandy
1 750ml bottle of dry rose-white zin is ok if you just need it sweeter

Stir and refrigerate at least 30 minutes to an hour.( I kept it in the fridge for 4 days and it was good to the last drop.)

Lime slices
Seltzer or club soda to serve

To serve pour 4-6 oz into a highball glass and top off with seltzer or club soda and a slice of lime. Give a little stir and drink up!

And how about a little slide show? In which Opal and Reepacheep wonder "Why the fuck are you taking our pictures so early?"
(Did you forget it's "Fucking Friday"?)

Huff Daddy-I am a peach fanatic! But mainly for fresh perfectly ripe peaches. I freeze at lest a half bushel every year and make preserves too. The nice thing about this recipe is you can change the fruit flavor! Do strawberries or rasberries and change the liqueur to match,my mind boggles at all of the possibilities! Melons, watermelon-lord I could make a different flavor every week for a good long while.

LiLu-it is so good-and what better way to get everyone feeling good?(it worked for me anyway)

CEO-I like this one cause it's not syrupy sweet like some.

What do you think of using mangos? You might still use either peach or apricot brandy and triple sec, but that mango flavor.....hmmmmmmm or should I say hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I have made this with mangoes! It is just as good.
And of course the fruit has to be eaten so you might as well put in what you like.

I need to get out of my wine and beer rut but I'm just not found of sweet alcohol. Well, that's not true. I love Tiramisu loaded with Kahlua. I think that is one of the desserts I'm making for the party in May.

I love peaches sooo much! I hate when they have NO flavor. A ripe peach is a beautiful thing. Sweet, juicy yummminess. The sangria sounds soo good. Maybe one day we can go to the beach and you can make us a gallon.
My mom's place at Mexico Beach has a porch w/ a swing-sitting on that swing looking at the ocean-man, doesnt that sound great?

Amy it does sound great! We used to go to mexico beach when I was little.
August is open on my calendar.
I know I've been out of touch.
I'm having trouble finding a balance between family and friends, relationships and me, you know?
But laundry is getting done and beds are getting made.
Cause that's the important stuff.
NOT(wtf is going on in my head?)
See ya on FB!
