(No, I don't have a fucking picture this time. Sorry)
Sweet and Sauerkraut Pork
In a huge crock pot put:
1lb good saurkraut
On top of the kraut place:
1/2 of a 7lb bone in Boston butt-the half with the bone(I'll tell you what I used the other half for another day)
lightly season with salt and pepper
Press onto the pork:
1/2 cup brown sugar
Around the roast add:
3 large granny smith apples, cored and cut into 8ths
Put your crock pot on high and cook for 6 hours. *I think if you did this before work it would be better to put it on low for 8 or 9 hours. I really have no clue except to say that it is possible to overcook something in a crock pot. Boy was that a waste of a good chuck roast!
Serve with a nice crusty bread to soak up all the delicious juices.

You bought one of those Boston Butts at Ingles two weeks ago too, didn't you :)
Well now I know what to do with mine. Can't do the sauerkrout though, Irish and German roots be damned.
HD-you know it! That was an awesome deal. There is an absolutely delicious sherried pork roast with pears recipe that is also wunderbar-and no sauerkraut. I've made it many times and I do believe I posted that recipe some time back.
I'm going to try this! I just bought a big crockpot with the goal of cooking more without having to rush dinner when I get home from work. I LOVE SAUERKRAUT! This will be awesome.
It is so freakin' delicious Tiff! Do try it and tell me what you think. Please!?!??!?
