What do you think?

After much web surfing, printing, drawing, coloring, copying, cutting, shrinking and enlarging, more cutting all followed by excessive taping I have determined the art and location of my soon to be tattoo.
The search continues for an artist but word of mouth is leading us to a shop in Hendersonville-there are so many tattoo shops here in Asheville that it is a bit overwhelming. My rough guess is that we have locally at least 10. Some good some great and some pretty bad. It's hard to know what to do. I really don't want to just go in to a place and say here do this, without knowing anything about the artist.

I could of course fly up and stay with Nej and Mot and visit the artist that did Mot's gorgeous tattoos but surprise surprise a guy who credits Dick Warsocki as a major inspiration is the dude in Hendersonville with his own shop now. Small world huh?

A little more research is in order and a visit or two to a few shops/artists and then this tattoo is a go.
What do you think?

Just the inside and is that as high as it goes, short of the crook of your arm?

I like it... :-)

I'd have to say a fair portion of the tattoo artists in the country were inspired by Dick in some fashion or another. :-) :-)

You know you're always welcome!!

Is the big day approaching?? When are you getting it done??? I'm so excited for you!!!

By the way...if I didn't know you personally, I'd steal that tattoo design!!! LOVE it!!!!!

I like the pattern a lot. I had thought of the right arm from shoulder to elbow.

1. I think the pattern is awesome.

2. I am impressed by how prepared you are.

(I personally just walked in and asked for something a little bit like this and like that... after thinking about it for 5 years, it had not taken shape exactly then one year later I went back to the same dude, and did the same thing)

HD & CEO(Monty)believe it or not-that is right at the crook of my arm. And for now just the inside. The same design I plan to have on the outside of my upper arm, kind of wrapped around and diagonal. This design is loose enough that if I decide to add on later it will be fairly easy to do.

Maureen-thanks(I can't wait to show it to you-is there a family reunion in the works?)

Nej-he says he hung out all the time at one of DW's regular stops...I'd love to make it up there sometime...We are doing so much traveling this summer it is crazy...soon is relative, hopefully in the next month I can get an appointment set up(we'll see what his schedule is like)...and if you want the design take it and make it your own, it's okay.

DCN-Thanks-I love it! My preparedness is an incication of my OCD tendancies-I figure if I'm going to do something that will last the rest of my life it's okay to let those tendencies out to play for a while. I have walked into and out of sveral tattoo shops over the years because I had no good idea of what I wanted. Now I do and it's go time!

Ah, like a wrapping vine. Sweet! After all, I'm a big fan of sleeves.

Brook said...

HD-yes exactly-highly modifed and with lots of uninked skin but a sleeve of sorts indeed.

I strongly suggest that in addition to checking out the artists flash / portfolio book, you ask for the names of some repeat clients with large work so you can check out the quality of the work in person. Most reputable artists will give you at least one client's name. Just a thought

I love it. Good luck and all that.
See you tomorrow.
Love, MOM

Jackass-I agree-one of the reasons this process is taking so long is my desire to really check out the artist. I may end up going to Nej's after all-did you see those tattoos of Mot's?

Mom! I can't wait!
