Nej it'll be 2-4 weeks before it's healed enough to change it to a smaller stud-the ring at first heals better and faster with much less chance of snagging on something and getting pulled out. Soooo....the HUGE THING IN MY NOSE!
Actually no, they say not to do anything to it, that those things are too harsh and keep it from healing quickly. Of course gently soak "crusties" off with warm water a couple times a day but that's about it. And it really didn't hurt. Still doesn't unless I forget and whack it trying to scratch my nose or push my hair back. Or the kid in the drive thru window pushes a bucket of chicken into your face...yup it happened.
DCN-You are right. The second picture is a glue on. I wore it to make sure the spot was right and took a picture to see how it looked. The first picture is of the horrid huge ring I had to get first. Now I just need to find a similar stud for later. No worries though, I love to shop!
Victoria-we have traveled South for the holidays and guess where all the Christmas cards are? Yes, on the floor in the living room in a nice tidy stack. Only 800+ miles away. After Christmas cards are always good don't you think? I have wanted to do the nose piercing for about ten years now and finally said "Fuck it" and just did it. I like it and can't wait til it heals enough to change my jewelry. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I LIKE it!
HD-Thanks! I am not a fan of the huge ring but I can change it out soon enough.
You can change it out soon enough? So, it's like training wheels on a bike? I'd never heard of that before...learn something new everyday! :-)

Is it the same with pierced ears, so they tell you to put rubbing alcohol on it and such?

A bucket of chicken in your face!?!?!? That's not very nice. :-)
It was kind of funny even though my eyes watered a little. And I got some free chicken out of the deal so it's all good.
so I don't understand, is the second picture a montage or a glue-on?

Merry Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful holiday! (I forgot to send the card, or Tom did. Depending on who you talk to. It's "mysterious"..).
And your piercing is very pretty! I ALWAYS wanted to do this..
